- 5.0 out of 5 stars from minstrel4g -- A book to savor. : Hope For The Wilderness is a book to savor. To dwell in. To take the scenic route rather than the interstate through. As you read, you will discover more about yourself, your journey, but most of all, you will discover more of the height, length, and depth of the love of Jesus and his incredible faithfulness. Russ is an extremely skillful writer. His voice is uniquely his. But more importantly is the voice of the Holy Spirit coming through those words. Hope For The Wilderness is saturated not only with Russ’s tears but with his fervent prayers for his readers. If you are in a wilderness season, read this book. If you are just out of a wilderness season, read this book. If your life feels like smooth sailing, read this book because your wilderness season is coming. But the good news is that Canaan is waiting. And the honey is flowing. ( Reviewed in the United States on October 13, 2021 )

- 5.0 out of 5 stars from G Miller -- Must read! : Russ brought it with this book. I honestly wasn’t able to put it down and found myself several nights in a row staying up till I couldn’t any longer reading and journaling. There are incredible bits of wisdom and strength in here to either put in your backpack for the next wilderness you may face in life or the one you’re currently walking through. I love the conversational style used it feels like I’m sitting in a coffee shop just enjoying a conversation and learning deep truths from the author. In addition, I loved the layout of the book and added note pages between sections. Russ himself would tell you note-takers are history makers. And I would highly encourage you to take time journaling over the lessons given here. Great book I look forward to hearing more from your great mind.
