:- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Elise -- fabulous Halloween Book with great value lesson : I just loved this book. I purchased two books, one for each of my grandchildren's houses. The book is a delightful story shown from the perspective of two young girls and their trick or treating experience. They like to plan their trick or treating route so they end up at their neighbor who always gives out a full size candy bar. They try to do the same thing this year only to find the neighbor is no longer there. They find out that the neighbor has passed away. They decide that to honor her they will continue the tradition in their house going forward. I think this is so much more than a Halloween story, it is a valuable life lesson as well. It teaches that you don't just forget about people you cared about, you find a way to honor them. I just loved, love, loved this book. I believe this is based on a true story. Kudus to the parents who have obviously succeeded in teaching their girls Adalyn and McKenna a wonderful life lesson. The book is also very beautifully illustrated by Brandi Bruggman. Frankly the only thing that seemed off, the age that the parents depicted just seemed a bit younger than what I was expecting. Can't explain it. Having said that, buy it!
