The first two had more restrictions in their life but were their own person. The third woman found the pieces that solved the history of the garden. I loved learning about the Land Girls and the part of WWII in British History. When find a good book, I find it hard to put down. A story of love, and overcoming adversity of life. I love flower gardens, even though I have no green thumb at all - I love looking at them, hearing about them, being in them. However, that is not necessary to enjoy this book. Each era that was covered had it's own unique qualities that made it interesting. The characters were so easy to see and hear in my mind. I enjoyed every moment of this book. This book tells the story of an estate garden and relationships from the perspective of three different periods of time. It tells of strong women and how they navigated life in these eras. The story also tells of building an amazing garden, how it grew in over time and restoration work to try and preserve history. It provides a good reprieve from the world around us right now.
